Three women were killed, and many were injured by the junta aerial bombardment on Myitna village in Minbya Township, Rakhine State, according to local residents.
The military jet fighter launched air attacks at 4:00 a.m. on April 3, and a woman aged 50 and 2 women aged over 20 were reportedly killed.
“They (junta) bombed at dawn. They came at a time when people were quiet, and everyone was sleeping. 3 villagers were killed. There are other injuries. The exact list is not yet known, but there are no less than 10 people,” explained a social worker in the Minbya township.
According to locals, the military used jet fighters to bombard Myit Na village of Minbya township occupied by the Arakan Army (AA), killing many residents and damaging many homes.
“There is a civil clinic in the village that provides medical treatment. It is a clinic treating people injured by heavy weapons. The junta jet came there and bombed, but the bombs fell into the village without being hit on the clinic. Some residents no longer live in the village and are moving elsewhere. Those affected are being treated only at the civil clinic,” said a resident of Minbya.
After the Arakan Army occupied and controlled the town of Minbya in northern Rakhine State on February 7, the military junta which surrendered Minbya town, has been conducting daily airstrikes since February 26.
“It can be said that Minbya has been attacked the most. They (junta) started bombing the village of Sekan. The aerial bombardment around Minbya is a deliberate attack on the people to kill them. I would like to say that such actions are the cowardly work of the Myanmar military junta. Every time people are killed and injured because of aerial bombings, it is a violation of a war crime by the military junta. If the frequency of such violations increases, it will become a kind of genocide,” said a human rights analyst.
Last April 2, 3 civilians were killed and 3 were injured by the junta airstrikes, using jet fighters, on Kam Dong Gyi town in Myebon township, and 9 civilians were injured by heavy weapons fired from Sittwe, in Mawhote village in Pauktaw township.
