The defense forces raided the Pyu Saw Htee militia camp of Male village, Kanbalu Township, causing the fighting to be intense and thousands of cars were trapped on the Shwebo-Myitkyina Highway, according to passengers’ people.
A Pyu Saw Htee militia camp of Male village in Kanbalu Township was raided by defense forces on May 7, killing 30 junta troops. So, the military junta launched at least 50 airstrikes due to the casualties, according to local residents.
“I’ve been trapped since the fighting started in Male village. It’s been 3 days now. I can’t go back and move forward,” a driver trapped near the Zee Gone intersection told MPA.
Residents from over 10 villages, including the village of Male, have fled since the military continued to launch air attacks, shooting with machine guns, and shooting with howitzers from the side of Thabeikkyin.
“I still heard the sounds of shooting. The car still can’t move forward. I’m scared of shooting, but I’m still here because I can’t afford it,” an over 60-year-old woman traveler, said.
Nearly 150 Pyu Saw Htee militiamen _ from Zegone Sugar Mill in Kanbalu Township _ were coming to reinforce the junta troops in Male village, so the counter-fighting would continue. That’s why the defense forces have informed the people not to use Shwebo-Myitkyina Road and Khin U-Kanbalu Road.
