The military junta launched aerial bombardment on Tain Nyo village in Mrauk-U township, Rakhine State, without any reason, on the morning of March 11, according to local people in Tain Nyo.
“The jet fighter dropped bombs at around 10 a.m. A bomb fell near the high school behind the police station in Tian Nyo village. Houses were also damaged, but no one was hurt,” said a local resident of Tain Nyo.
He explained that during the 1027 operation, the military junta launched two airstrikes inside Tim Nyo village, as well as opened fire with heavy weapons.
“The junta aerial bombardment without a fight makes the people panic, so they (junta) should not do violent and terrorist behavior to make people afraid. Even when displaced people are worried because their livelihoods are difficult, they (junta) should not commit such violent and terrorism targeting people,” said a displaced person from Tain Nyo.
Due to the shooting of heavy artilleries by the Mrauk-U-based Police State, Light Infantry Battalion 377, 378, 540, and No.31 police battalion, the Mrauk-U Archaeological Museum and ancient heritage were destructed, ancient temples were hit to be destroyed by shells, the EPC office that supplies electricity to Mrauk-U town was damaged, and local residents’ homes were also destroyed by fire.
