U Zaw Thin, NLD Parliamentarian, whose house was set on fire by the junta, on Shwe Kyina Pagoda road in Naung Kho Ward in Bhamo town, Kachin State, at about 3 o’clock in the morning of January 24, according to local people.
“U Zaw Thin has been fled his home for a long time. The house has been sealed off since 2022, and now the military junta has set it on fire, and now it’s left as ashes,” a man from Bhamo told MPA.
U Zaw Thin acted as a parliament member of Bhamo Township Constituency No. (1) in 2015, and he won again in the general election held in November 2020.
“I think they poured gasoline on U Zaw Thin’s house and set it on fire. The house didn’t start to be burnt, but the fence started to be burnt,” a man regarding the fire accident explained.
The whole house reportedly was burnt to ashes, and only the pillars of the house remained.
