“We captured them in our region. We captured them while shooting at the retreating soldiers. Among the captured were seven seriously wounded. Our medical unit is treating them. We also seized a lot of weapons and ammunition,” he explained.

“There is no more military junta rule in the Paletwa region. But I think there will be soldiers retreating from the fighting on the Rakhine side. So, we must be aware of that. We are also afraid of air raids,” a local man from Paletwa told MPA.
The junta troops who were captured will be detained in a safe place, and action will be taken according to international military law (the Geneva Convention).
Locals told MPA, more than 10 civilians have been killed by airstrikes of the Junta’s Air Force in Home Village, Paletwa Township, Dair Region, within two months from the beginning of 2024.
