AT told KLG PDF information officer that a deputy commander of Yinmarpin District Battalion, KLG PDF was accidentally hit and killed by a mine.
At 9:00 a.m. on September 4, 5 comrades including the deputy commander from Yinmarpin District Battalion 21, laid mines to attack the SAC troops that entered Kani Township. Because it was raining, the wire was loosened and exploded, and the 21-year-old deputy commander Ko Thet Paing Soe (b) Monegyi was killed.
“Ko Thet Paing Soe and five of his comrades received information about the direction of the military and were digging a mine. They were killed in a mine accident. When it was raining, when the battery was attached to the mine, the wire became loose, and the mine exploded and they died,” said AT, KLG PDF Information Officer.
It is also known that Ko Thet Paing Soe, who died in a mine accident, was cremated in a ceremony at 2 o’clock in the afternoon that day (September 4).
Yinmarpin District Battalion 21 (KLG PDF) was formed on April 1, 2021, and from the time of its formation until today, there have been 25 casualties, including mine accidents
“From the beginning of the revolution until now, 25 comrades have been killed. Among those 25 comrades, 3 comrades were killed due to mine accidents,” said AT.
At the beginning of the armed revolution in Sagaing Region, they attacked the SAC with homemade mines and homemade guns, and there are many comrades who died in an accident from the manufacture and testing of hand-made mines, but it is not known exactly how many were killed.
“There aren’t many real guns in A-nyar region. Since the beginning of the revolution, we’ve only had to fight with hand-made guns. We still don’t have enough guns, so they produce hand-made guns. Weapons are tested. Many comrades die when it fails,” said a comrade from the local defense force based in Sagaing.
Currently, the MOD has not provided enough weapons to the defense forces in Sagaing Region, and there are many financial difficulties in purchasing weapons, so they have to prioritize the production of weapons.
