It was reported from the 3601st Battalion-PPDF of Pyay District that one soldier was killed in an ambush on the SAC column that had entered on Bago Range in Bago Region, Paungde Township.
On June 5th, at around 11:00 am, the 50-soldier column who were marching into the Shwe Lay Hill area were intercepted and attacked between Htangone Village and Kyogone Village, Paungde Township.
A PPDF comrade said, “The column crossed and headed to Thaegone between Taung Khamauk and Kai Kwar. The mine didn’t work because there was a jammer pulling when we exploded a landmine(handmade) at the east of Kai Kwar village. A group of us waiting in front of the column shot while these guys were sitting and resting.”
It was reported that the body of the dead soldier was carried back to Htangone village with a blanket hammock, and three temporary huts near the scene of the battle were burned
down.
The SAC troops returned fire with heavy and small arms, but the revolutionary comrades were able to retreat without being harmed.
On June 3rd, a military column was intercepted and attacked on the Myayni ridge near Letpan Khon village, Paungde Township, causing onesoldier dead and one seriously injured.
The MPA could not separately confirm the death and injury of the soldiers.
