The People’s Defense Comrade announced that over 170 houses were burned down by the SAC troops for two days in a row in the Kan Thit village in the western part of Khin U Township, Sagaing Region.
On the 19th and 20th of May, the SAC column set fire to Kan Thit Village, which has more than 500 houses, and 172 houses were destroyed by fire.
“Kan Thit village was set fire for two consecutive days, and 172 houses were burnt to ashes. This is the 3rd time that Kan Thit village has been set fire. It is a big village with over 500 houses, more than 300 have been burned for the 3rd time,” said Ye U-based People’s Defense Comrade information officer Htoo Khant Zaw (Amay Thar).
On the evening of May 19, after the SAC troops set fire to nine houses in Kan Thit village, they camped overnight in that same village and set fire to it again this morning before leaving.
Before that column entered the Kan Thit village, they burned three houses in Aung Chan Thar village (Man Gyi Tone Gone village).
Khin U Township Right News reported that thousands of local residents are fleeing and in need of emergency assistance due to the continuous arson and attack by the Military in Khin U Township.
This column, which came to attack from Shwe Bo Township to Khin U Township, left for Ye U Township at around 3:00 pm today.
