It is reported that about 20,000 people from 3 circuit area of Kanbalu Township in Sagaing Region, are fleeing from the war.
An official from the Kyun Hla activists group said that the villagers in Zeekone and Kaboe in Kanbalu township and in villages of Htankone circuit areas have been forced to flee to safety due to the burning of villages by the SAC Military troops and Pyusawhti (militias).
“Yes, the more than 20,000 people who are fleeing now are people from 3 circuit areas. I can’t go back to village yet because the military council column is still there. If we are close to the route from which the column patrolled while we are fleeing, we have to flee again,” he said.
The list of 20,000 residents who are currently fleeing does not include people from Pazigyi village and nearby areas, where nearly 200 people were killed due to an airstrike on April 11th.
“Pazigyi is from Kanbalu District, but it is not included in this list because it is in Malae circuit areas,” he added.
It is reported that the people of Pazigyi village and nearby villages are still fleeing from the war in the forest from April 11th until today, and have not dared to return to the village.
