It is reported that in the last week of this month, the SAC Military burned down more than a thousand houses in the eastern part of Tabayin Township in Sagaing Region.
“Between 24 and 30 January, 1081 houses in 10 villages in the eastern part of Tabayin were burned down in consecutive days,” an official of Displacement Support Group of Tabayin Township said.
“This is the current list of burning down houses that received yesterday on 24 January. This is the most recent list. It is very close to the situation on the ground. There will be more than that, and there will be no less,” said by an official of Displacement Support Group of Tabayin Township.
The Displacement Support Group of Tabayin Township announced today that “the above-mentioned villages that were burned down are Nyong Hla village, Leyet Kone village, Ohn Tapin village, Dainat village, Marakan village, Tharetaw village, Mu Khan Twin village, Yin Kyae village, Masoe Yain village, and Muro Kone village”.
“These are the listed villages. There are still parts of big cities and Sangkwe and Pauk Yin that are not able to list. There are more than 30,000 people who are fleeing because their villages have been burned down. More than 15,000 local people who we are helping have run out of food. The food that was collected before has been burned in fire,” he added.
The MPA has investigated that currently, the SAC Military that are stationed in Yonethar village in the east of Tabayin and Maupin in the east bank of the Mu River, are patrolling the villages.
