An official from Indaw Revolution-IR said that a monk and his lay attendant were killed when the SAC Air attacked with a jet fighter on September 15, around 8:00 p.m., without any fighting in Khayansatkon Village, Indaw Township, Sagaing Region.
“There were no local defense forces, there was no fighting, and we still don’t know why the plane bombed them suddenly at night. Because of the bombardment, Ashin Ra Jainda, a 77-year-old monk with a 57-year-old monkhood and his 57-year-old attendant were killed. And, the main building and the public resthouse of the monastery were destroyed,” he said.
It is also reported that after the SAC Air bombarded Khayansatkone village, they also fired with heavy weapons for more than 20 minutes.
“The air attack happened at 8 o’clock, and after that, they continuously fired five rounds of heavy weapons from Intaw Army Hill towards Khayansatkone village,” he said.
It was also reported that due to the air strike, Khayansatkone village and the nearby villages had to flee overnight, and some houses in Khayansatkone village were damaged.
