It is reported that the PDF forces fired heavy weapons at the SAC troops that were marching and burning villages in Wetlet Township, Sagaing Region, causing casualties.
At 8:30 a.m. on March ၂, the Shwe Bo District Battalion-15, Eagle Guerrilla Force Company (1) reported that the SAC column of around 70 troops, which had set fire to houses in Aung Chan Thar village and entered Binteikon village in a column, fired two rounds with heavy weapons.
“Yesterday, we had attacked two times. They burned Aung Chan Thar village and fired heavy weapons at the column that was marching Binteikon village, and they fired back. We also retreated. At around 11:30, the soldiers from Thakhuttaw village had been attacked in the morning, they fired recklessly, so our groups went and shot them with heavy weapons. It took about 45 minutes,” said Eagle Guerrilla Force Battalion Commander Comrade Kauk Yoe.
Similarly, at around 9:30 in the morning, the PDFs went to fight because the soldiers from Thakhuttaw village were continuously firing heavy weapons, and the fighting continued for about 45 minutes.
“We did not know the death of the soldiers when they were raiding on the march. We know that they were taken away in a hearse to Wetlet. What the villagers saw was that they were being carried away in hammocks. They also did not dare to look. They had to be hiding,” he said.
The attack was carried out jointly by the Eagle Guerrilla Force and allied forces which is the Lightning Guerrilla Force and the Nattaung Nagar People’s Defense Force.
After the attacks, the wounded soldiers were taken to Wetlet town by Metta Shin’s funeral car.
