The Anti-Dictatorship Revolutionary People’s Army – DRPA is launching a ‘Liberation Forest’ campaign to fund the revolution.
The forest has been planted somewhere in Myanmar, where people can buy trees and plant trees from afar for them.
Comrade Linn Nway from the DRPA explained to the MPA that, “The idea for the tree sale campaign was that we had nothing to sell, and we already have sold about six houses. Owned cars have been sold. We still have ancestral trees. Before the coup, under the NLD government, we launched a strike for Climate campaign in Yangon to protect the environment by not cutting down trees. We have only one world to live in. So, we have to save this world. So, we re-thought these ideas, if we create like that, it might be ok.”
The DRPA had to sell its assets to fund the group, as six houses, cars, motorcycles and gold jewelry were sold out, thus the DRPA said it was launching another campaign.
“We campaign and sell heritage trees. In the beginning, it was enough to pay for weapons and food. I don’t even think I will get bullets cost. There are more than 3 Lakhs per tree in the market at the 6-years-age tree. Now there are three-years-aged trees. The number of trees is 1500. We arranged this to avoid supporting the SAC. Please buy them if you can. You can also buy with friends.”, it announced on the DRPA’s Facebook page.
Currently, the coup in Myanmar has weakened the environmental process and made it difficult to operate independently. Comrade Linn Nway, in-charge of the DRPA, added, “The current coup is just one thing in my country. The rest of the environment is global. After saving our country, we must save the world. We did it with this idea in mind.”
The trees can be purchased on the social networking sites of Burmese Mainland Resistance Alliance’s Force (B.R.A.F), Nway Oo Su Buu, the DRPA, To Comrades, at a cost of 130000 Kyats per tree. In order to overthrow the dictator, revolutionary forces have weighed in on the support of the people as the revolution has dragged on, and instead of relying solely on financial aid, they have been using technology-enabled platforms such as game apps and Youtube Channels to donate.
In addition to these campaigns, the DRPA is also working on agriculture and raising funds for the revolution. Scientists estimate that by 2050, there will be 200 million migrants due to political, economic and military problems in the world, as well as related disasters, and climate change. It is said that in the future the world will suffer greatly from the effects of famine and climate change.
