The junta launched air attacks on a Janmai village, Momauk Township, Kachin State, without a fight at 1:00 a.m. on April 1, killing 5 civilians, according to local residents.
The junta plane bombarded the place where the displaced people fleeing from Lweje town, due to the ongoing battle to capture the junta’s Seinlone Strategic Hill Camp near the Chinese border trade zone on the Bhamo – Lweje Road.
“Jangmai village is between Lweje and Embapa village. Air attack caused a big pothole on the road. It bombed at 1:00 a.m. this morning. 5 civilians including the car driver were killed, and 3 were injured. Cars were also damaged, and a house was damaged,” a resident told MPA.
MPA continues to investigate the casualties because of a news report that the people killed by the aerial bombardment were members of military’s family.
“Some people from Lweje have fled to Maijayan, and some have fled to Embapa village,” said an IDP man.
At present, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) has captured all military junta camps _ including Sein Long and Yaw Yon Strategic Hill near Lweje town, so the junta is carrying out airstrikes in the vicinity of Lweje, according to local residents.
The Kachin Independence Army (KIA) was able to capture the Seinlong strategic hill on the Bhamo – Lweje road, which has been stationed by the military junta for more than 60 years, this morning.
