The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) announced on March 22 that they provided more than 400 million kyats to restore more than 421 houses destroyed during the 1027 Operation in northern Shan State.
The cities provided by the TNLA reportedly are Namkham, Namsan, Menton, and Mai Ngaw.
“One house is different from another in providing. They (TNLA) provide support based on the value of the damage. For houses that were completely destroyed by fire, they restore all the costs of building the house,” said a local man from Namtu.
Brigadier General Targujar and officials from the PSLF/TNLA administration department gave money to the affected families in each township to restore the damaged houses.
“If we can’t completely repair a house burnt to ashes, we set it as A level. If a brick house costs 5 million kyats, we will support it as much as cost. We set level B for a house that was damaged by heavy weapons, and it will be expensive to repair,” said TNLA spokesperson Major Yay Oo.
Currently, support has already been provided in the townships Namkham, Namsan, Menton, and Mai Ngaw, and will continue to support Malone and Kutkai towns in the next week, he added.
In addition, the TNLA also announced that the bereaved families of those who were killed by the junta’s airstrikes and heavy weapons have also been given a specified amount of support.
According to Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the administration has started operating in the townships controlled by TNLA, and law enforcement and city projects have started to be implemented.
