The junta troops killed two women, who were related mother and daughter, and lived in Ward No. 3, Kamma Town, Pakokku District, Magway Region, at around 12:00 p.m. on March 4th and raped the daughter, Bo Letyar, officer-in-charge of Myaing People Defense Force (Pa-Ka-Hpa under NUG), told MPA.
“They were killed around the night of March 4th. The bodies were found around 9 o’clock on March 5th. They were a mother and daughter, both of whom had been cut throats, and the daughter was found raped. Both have been buried,” Bo Letyar, the officer-in-charge of Myaing Pa-Ka-Hpa, said.
The two women killed by the junta troops are 80-year-old (Daw) Kyi Aung and her daughter, 46-year-old (Ma) Khaing.
“While the junta column was stationed in Kamma Town, the soldiers were drunk and killed them that night. In the morning, people found them dead in their house. They were brutally killed. Today, Kamma Town is completely quiet,” a resident of Kamma said, quoting an eyewitness.
In more than three years after the military coup, 806 women across the country were killed by the military junta, the Burmese Women’s Union (BMU) reported on March 4.
