The CDF (Chinland Defense Force—Hakha) announced on February 25 that the house of Dr. Suthang, a member of the junta, on Sakta Road, Hakha City, Chin State, was sealed and kept as public property and will be used as necessary in the revolution.
A spokesperson for the Central Committee of CDF (Hakha) told MPA that Dr. Hmuh Thang, who is a native of Thantlang Town, where the entire town was destroyed by fire by the junta troops, not only cooperated with the junta but also organized the elections to be held by the military junta in September 2023 at the City Hall in Hakha City.
“We need to get rid of all pillars of the terrorist army. However, it needs to be done practically. If it is not practical and only ideological, nothing will come of it. It will only take a short time to go online. People want a really effective, practical, and realistic approach,” said Chin political analyst Mr. Khaing Sa.
A spokesperson of CDF (Hakha) Central Committee added that the CDF (Hakha) has been able to dominate the villages in Hakha Township and is able to control some parts of Hakha City.
“We still can’t control the entire Hakha city and houses. However, how we manage things that will benefit the revolution must be agreed upon by everyone in the organization. Now that it has been confiscated, if the people in the organization agree, we can hold auctions for the revolution,” he explained.
Dr. Hmuh Thang was the chairman of Chin State’s Union Strength and Development Party (USDP) and was appointed as a member of the State Administrative Council on February 17, 2023, instead of Pugin Kan Lian.
On December 11, 2023, along with three other top leaders of the military junta (SAC) and two companies that import weapons to the Military Junta, Dr. Hmuh Thang was sanctioned by the European Union (EU), banned from traveling within European countries, and had his property and businesses confiscated.
