As a result of the SAC air strikes, many people working in the oil fields in Pauk Township and Myaing Township are fleeing.
It is said that the people who work in the nearby oil field blocks are fleeing after the air attack of the SAC on Lal O village and Lal Ma village in Pauk township on April 24, at around 12:00 noon.
“Yesterday, a jet fighter flew over our area three times around. Then it came to Lal O and Lal Ma, and then shot them with a helicopter. I just saw it. I heard loud noises. The women and children were scared, so we sent them to safety first. I came back. Cause there are oil that I bought here,” an oil-producing businessman told MPA.
It is said that the SAC troops march to attack Pauk Township and Myaing Township and are frequently attacking with aircraft, so the oil business operators and vendors from various oil blocks in the area are in a state of panic.
“Before, oilfields were prosperous with oil cars, joe cars, firewood cars sold for oil cooking. Now there is fighting and so there are no people. The whole oilfield is dry. We can’t sell anything. We also have to run or not after we look at the situation,” a shopkeeper selling goods in the oil field told MPA.
Residents said that the SAC troops often raided these oil fields in 2022 and burned down the oil fields, so they often had to run away.
