It is reported that Myanmar citizens who came to South Korea have invested about 1.6 million US dollars in the revolutionary fundraising projects of the NUG government and the Ministry of Planning and Finance.
NUG Representative Office-South Korea is working as a NUG agent and was established as an arm of NUG, and has been working on revolutionary fundraising projects, including the sale of treasury bonds of the Ministry of Planning and Finance, as an exclusive task, the Labor Department of NUG South Korea Representative Office told MPA.
“As our representative office, we also have major tasks. In particular, there are matters to be carried out related to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Myanmar-NUG. However, on the other hand, when doing revolutionary fund-raising projects, including the sale of treasury bonds, our representative office also cooperated with these tasks as an agent, as a private task,” said an official from the labor department of the NUG – South Korea representative office.
The NUG’s representative office in South Korea sold NUG’s treasury bonds to the Ministry of Planning and Finance for a maximum of Won 1,600 million as a revolutionary fund.
“Recently, the Ministry of Planning and Finance has been selling condominium apartments. If we are talking about those condominium apartments, there are currently people who have bought them for Won 45 million. Prior to that, we sold the two Min Aung Hlaing houses and residential projects in Yangon and Mandalay. In Mandalay, we were able to sell about Won 160 million,” he said.
MPA has investigated that, from the time the NUG- South Korea representative office began to act as an agent until now, MPA has investigated that it has received exactly MMK 1000 million (about 1.6 million U.S. dollars) from Myanmar citizens in the revolutionary fund, which is equivalent to Won 2000 million, and this does not include the income of revolutionary organizations active in South Korea.
