Chaung U Revolution announced that four civilians were killed, and three PDF comrades were missing due to an air attack by the SAC Air in Chaung U Township, Sagaing Region.
Yesterday (September 26th) at around 1:00 in the afternoon, SAC Air attacked Min Tei, Min Khaung Village, and Ma Kyee Khwa (three villages) in Chaung U Township with a Mi35 helicopter.
“There was no ground battle. Yesterday, at around 1:00 in the afternoon, they (SAC soldiers) came from the column that was fighting on the Monywa side, and it was suddenly attacked,” said an official of the Chaung U Revolution.
After conducting a 30-minute air attack with a Mi 35 helicopter, the SAC Air came three times with a Mi 17 type aircraft, and about 70 military soldiers were dropped.
An official of the Chaung U Revolution said that two soldiers from the Combat Unit No. (4) – People’s Defence Force (Pa-Ka-Hpa) and one soldier from the 6th Battalion of the Monywa District, who resisted the attack when the SAC Army dropped forces by air, are missing and have not been contacted until today.
It is also reported that about 100 people have been trapped until today due to the sudden aerial attack on Chaung U township and the SAC Army’s raids.
In addition, an official from the People’s Defense Force of Chaung U Township said that the SAC troops who were conducting raids killed local one woman and three men and dumped them on the road.
“Most people are still trapped because SAC troops have been stationed in these villages. They are the people who have been taken hostage. As far as we know, there are local three men and one woman in her 20s who have been shot and killed on the road,” he said.
Today (September 27th) at around 10:00 am, the SAC troops are burning down Ma Kyee Khwa village in Chaung U Township, so it is known that about 1,500 local residents of that village are fleeing from the military column.
