The military jet dropped bombs on Wunma Thuu Hospital, Mindat Township, Chin State, killing 4 people and about 30 who were receiving medical treatment, according to Chin Defense Force-Mindat.
The military attacked the Wunma Thuu with 8 bombs including 500-pound bombs at around 8:00 p.m. on April 25, according to Salai Yoman, spokesperson of the Chin National Council-Mindat (CNC).
“So far, there have been 4 dead. If we add up all the major and minor injuries, there will be around 30 people. The hospital is a big and strong building, but all the roofs, shields, and brick walls collapsed. It was all to ashes after the fire,” he told MPA.
He noted that the military junta targeted civilians in the airstrikes in Mindat Township without encountering fight.
Before the military junta airstrike on Wunma Thuu Hospital, about 60 bombs were dropped by a jet fighter 2 times, and by Y12 aircraft 5 times.
“No one was injured in the bombing of the evening. It was just bombardment into the jungle. There are no buildings there,” explained a man from Mindat.
The CDF-Mindat’s news and information department announced _ at the CDF’s three years revolution anniversary ceremony on April 24 _ that during 3 years of the revolution, the junta carried out several airstrikes on Mindat Township, injuring 56 civilians _ including children who were not involved in the fighting, and destroying 8 churches, 4 monasteries, and 88 houses and buildings.
