It is reported that after soldiers patrolling in Natogyi township in Mandalay Region, were attacked by mines two times, one soldier was killed and one gun was seized.
“At around 11:30 a.m. on 20 January, when about 15 soldiers from Welu Police Station in Natogyi Township were patrolling, Natogyi PDF amubushed and attacked them near Vahat Taw village and seized one MA3 gun and 19 bullets,” Battalion (No.2) of Natogyi People Defense Force (NPDF) in Myingyan District (No.4) said.
The NPDF said that the soldier killed was a corporal of the Mithila Air Force, and his death body was picked up by four cars, but MPA could not confirm the death of the corporal yet.
“The dead body of corporal was picked up by four cars. I don’t know where the dead body was sent to. I also heard that it was sent to the Mithila Air Force. Another reinforcement arrived. Those guys were in the mine field, so they were attacked by the mine. These guys ran back. It came again in the evening. We had previously mined the roads where these guys might come, so they were mined again. Locals say that many of these soldiers were killed. But I can definitely say only one person,” said by an NPDF leader.
On January 20th, at 1:00 p.m., the soldiers who came as reinforcements were attacked by the mines due to these guys were in the mine field of the NPDF.
At 4:00 p.m., as more reinforcements arrived, the mines were attacked again.
On 18 January, the NPDF bombed by drone a checkpoint gate at Htankhwa road in Natogyi Township.
