NUG Prime Minister’s Office Spokesperson U Ne Boon Lat said that more than 60 percent of the territory throughout Myanmar has been controlled by the National Unity Government (NUG) and the Ethnic Resistance Organizations (EROs).
He said this at a press conference on the three-year anniversary of the formation of the National Unity Government (NUG) held on April 30.
“If we say about the controlled areas, there are 3 types of areas: dominated area, controlled area, and liberated area. So, it is said more than 60 percent includes all 3 types of controlled areas,” he said.
U Ne Boon Lat said that administrative activities and service activities are being carried out in the controlled areas.
“The dominated areas by resistance forces include some sections of roads and some villages. We can dominate these areas. If we say controlled areas, the military junta is not able to enter these areas and we have controlled the areas and are operating administrative and service activities,” he continued.
The controlled areas reportedly included liberated areas of ethnic armed forces.
“A liberated area is an area in which the military junta can’t enter by land or sea except by air, and everything is managed by the revolutionary forces,” he said.
NUG presidential office spokesperson U Kyaw Zaw said that due to the people’s support, military advantage has been gained not only in the dominated areas by resistance forces but also in the areas ruled by the military junta.
“These dominated areas have the full support of the people. Even in the big cities where only military junta can rule a little, we are able to fight battles with the help and support of the people,” he said.
The military headquarters, Min Aung Hlaing’s home, and Aela Air Base _ which are important targets in Nay Pyi Taw _ which can be said to be the heart of the military junta, were able to be attacked by resistance forces, U Kyaw Zaw said.
On April 4, 35 drones were launched at Nay Pyi Taw military targets, 29 of which reached the targets, according to the report of the NUG Ministry of Defense.
