It is reported that the junta troops raided Nyaung Pin Thar village, Matara Township, Mandalay Region, and killed one PDF comrade and one local man.
The junta troops raided Nyaung Pin Thar village at around 5:30 in the morning on March 20, according to the Matara People’s Defense Force (Pa-Ka-Hpa under the NUG).
A column from Kyauktadar Village, Matara Township, and a column from Thaphankai Village launched to raid Nyaung Pin Thar Village, and a PDF comrade and a civilian were killed when they clashed with those columns, Bo Tauk, the Information Officer of Matara Township People’s Defense Force, said.
“When the column came, our comrade was killed in a confrontation with them. One of his arms was cut off. He was repeatedly stabbed in the chest with a knife. A civilian also met them and were shot in the head,” he said.
After the column left Nyaung Pin Thar village, it arrived at Shar Say Chet village at around 8:00 a.m. and set fire to it, destroying 14 houses.
“Shar Say Chet was set on fire after they (junta troops) left from Nyaung Pin Thar. It is not yet known why. The residents have been running since the column came,” said a local.
It is reported that more than 300 residents of Nyaung Pin Thar and Shar Say Chet villages are fleeing because the junta column is marching around to raid.
