It is reported that a man was beheaded by junta troops in Taungyargyi village, located at the border of Matara and Singu townships in Mandalay Region.
An official from Wetlet Informational Network said that a junta column advancing from Yetkansin Taung, Matara Township, arrived in Taungyargyi Village in the morning on May 14th and beheaded a 36-year-old man and hung his head on a fence post.
“We don’t know why he was killed. The head was found when we returned to the village after the army left. The body was not found. It was done by a column from Matara,” he told MPA.
This column left Taungyatgyi Village at about 1 p.m. today (May 14th) and went back to Matara Town.
“The column is advancing around the entire township at the moment. If it is the eastern part today, it will be the western part the next day. The numbers of displaced people have not risen up,” said Bo Tauk, the information officer of Matara Township PDF (Pa Ka Hpa).
While the column was leaving Yetkansin Taung, it fired twice with heavy weapons towards Taungyargyi Village.
In all the villages in Matara Township, when a junta column advances, they urgently dodge it, and when the column leaves, they return to the villages.
