The military junta fired heavy weapons and launched drone attacks in the center of Loikaw town, Karenni State, killing 3 women.
According to Loikaw residents, the junta troops fired heavy weapons and dropped firebombs with drones near Min Mahaw hotel in Mingalar ward, Loikaw town, at around 9:00 p.m. on March 25.
“At 9 o’clock last night, the junta troops shot with heavy weapons 4 times. Then the drones bombed more than 20 times. They continuously dropped bombs. The bombs dropped by the drones caught fire as soon as they fell. Many buildings were burned,” he said.
An official of the Karenni Nationalities Defence Force (KNDF) based in Loikaw said that three women near the Min Mahaw Hotel were killed from injuries hit by heavy weapons.
“Only a few people are living there. One of the three women is a bit older. The other two are in their 20s. They come to work in Loikaw from the A-nyar region. Their boss is avoiding the war, so they may be living there without fleeing,” he said.
There has been no clash fighting inside Loikaw town from the morning until 2:00 p.m. today (March 26), according to a member of the resistance force based in Loikaw town.
“From this morning until now, there has been no fighting. Everything is calm. There is no firing from either side. We have not seen the arrival of the military aircraft until 2:00 p.m. now,” he said.
