The military junta reportedly launched an aerial bombardment on Wetluai village in Butalin Township, Sagaing Region, killing a grandmother and injuring a civilian.
Daw Shwe Thote aged 76 died on the spot, and Daw Tar Ma aged 65 was injured in her pelvis and hospitalized as the junta plane bombed at around 5:00 p.m. on March 20, according to local residents.
“I only heard the sound, but I didn’t see it because of a jet fighter. It was bombed very quickly and went back up,” a Wetluai villager told MPA.
The junta’s jet fighter dropped 8 bombs inside Wetluai village, destroying a cattle farm, killing 4 cows and pigs.
“They (junta) bombed with a jet for no reason. There was no fight. There was no movement. They deliberately bombed on a village where only civilians live,” said Ma Khin Wati, the Helping For Hends official.
Some local residents said that the jet fighter that came to shoot was from the Kalay Air Force Base in Sagaing Region.
