Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) announced that the junta’s military destroyed in a landmine explosion the Moetay Bridge between Hsipaw and Namtu in northern Shan State on December 28.
The Moetay Bridge is also a bridge that mainly connects Hsipaw, Namtu and Namsan towns.
“3 military vehicles came to Moetay village in the evening. I don’t know if they will go up to Namsan. TNLA soldiers were also waiting around there. We also have to guard the entire village,” said a man from Manli village.
The junta’s military 503 and 504 reportedly destroyed Moetay Bridge with mines, but the bridge is not completely damaged, so the planks are put up and cars are able to travel.
“It’s not completely collapsed, but just destroyed. Some cars are passing through with the planks put back in. And all the bridges were destroyed, so the people became difficult to travel,” said a passenger from Lashio.
Currently TNLA was able to capture Namtu town, but the junta’s military is reportedly conducting air strikes on it.
