According to a Dooplaya District’s news and information officer, the PDF Joint Forces were able to completely attack and capture the SAC’s Ratalang camp located in a place at the Thai-Myanmar border in Kawkareik Township, Dooplaya District in KNU administration area and seized a lot of weapons and ammunition.
Yesterday (September 14th) the raid started at 7:55 a.m. and the entire camp was completely captured by 8:20 a.m. in the morning.
“Kwilong Tai, Ratalang, and Amyaut Kone are triangular in shape. The main thing is that Kwilongtai and Letalang located in the Thailand border are defensive base. If the reinforcements are coming towards Kwilong Tai, they are coming from the Ratalang camp. If the reinforcements come from the Myanmar side, it is difficult for them to come from the Myanmar side, so it seems that they have crossed the Hongtharo River and aligned with the Thai side. Now, I heard that the Ratalang camp has been captured,” said a source close to the KNU.
It is also known that 9 soldiers of the SAC were killed in the battle of strike camp and the other soldiers had escaped.
It is said that one MA-1 gun, two MA-2 guns, one MA-3-gun, two MA-4 guns, one RPG-7, two 60 mm short corns, two pistols and one carp machine inside the Ratalang camp were seized.
In addition, seventy RPG-7 bullets, forty 81mm bullets, 110 (60mm) bullets, forty M-79 ammunition, 2800 (5.56 bullets), 800 (7.62 bullets), 20 land mines, 23 mines, 3 forward mines, 1 large communication device, a Map, 20 hand grenades, 2 compasses, ammunition and other items were also seized.
The camp was attacked and captured jointly together by KNLA – Karen National Liberation Army Battalion (18) and joint revolutionary forces. During the battle, three comrades from the joint forces were injured and one was killed.
