It is reported that the Military troops have stolen valuables and domestic animals from the villages fleeing from war of Singu township, Mandalay Region, and sent them to the Htongyi Police Station.
Since the morning of May 28, the soldiers have been stealing valuables and domestic animals from the uninhabited villages of Thae Inn and Parrot village because the villagers have been fleeing from war.
“The villagers have not yet dared to return to the village. These guys (soldiers) are still on the move. When we checked the area to help the displaced people, they (soldiers) are stealing chickens, pigs, cows, and everything that can be eaten from Thae Inn village and Parrot village. When we investigated, they (soldiers) sent them to the Htongyi Police Station. I heard that the police station’s commander and Pyusawhti (SAC militias) of Taung Inn village were being asked to sell these things,” said the captain Nay, a leader of the SGU, Galone guerrilla force.
Due to the SAC military troops have stationed at the Htongyi police station and are patrolling, about 5,000 local residents of Thae Inn, Parrot, Pokkone, Pytakkone, Kyungyi, Kyuntawgyi, Kyuntaw, and Leppanzin have been fleet from war.
“On that day, they were chasing cows and pigs and putting them on a distribution raft (2 vehicles attached to a raft with wooden boards). The distribution raft was attached to the top of Parrot Village. From there, they(soldiers) will send them to Htongyi police station. Htongyi and the parrot village are in the same row. But it is needed to go by river route and land route, so if floating by a raft in the Irrawaddy River, it will be a short time,” said a local resident.
Since May 24, the Military troops fired with heavy weapons and burned down Thae Inn village and nearby villages in Sintgaing Township, causing many houses to burn down.
