It is reported that the Township SAC, led by Major Kyi Myo Lwin, came and destroyed the office of the National League for Democracy in Thayarwati Township, Bago Region.
On April 25th, at around 7:00 p.m., the National League for Democracy (NLD) office on Saya San Myo Thit Street, Thayarwaddy town, was destroyed by a total of more than 30 including soldiers, police, Pyu Saw hHtee, and Ma-Ba-Tha in civilian clothes, according to the National League for Democracy community in Thayarwaddy.
“Last night, people in civillian clothes came and destroyed it with pickaxes, hammers, hammers, and knives. They didn’t destroy the main building. They destroyed the photo of Amay Su, the President, and everything related to the NLD inside the office. They destroyed the flagpoles. They destroyed the signboard of the representative’s office. They destroyed the NLD signboard. Everything related to the NLD was destroyed except for the main hall,” said a township executive member of the National League for Democracy in Thayarwaddy Township.
Next to the National League for Democracy office that was destroyed, there is an immigration office (La Wa Ka) and seven soldiers are permanently stationed in that office.
“I am loathsome of this kind of vulgar act. The whole people will also loathe this matter. No military dictator has ever done something like this. They could seal off the office. I condemn it for not acting like a human being and acting like a wild animal,” he said.
While the office of the National League for Democracy was destroyed, the lights in the immigration office were turned off.
