Mandalay’s Tada-U Air Force Base was reportedly attacked with 5 shock-missiles after entering in the inner line of the military area, according to the Brave Warriors For Myanmar (BWM).
Tada-U Air Force Base was attacked with 12 long-range missiles (170mm), in Tada-U township, Mandalay Region, at around 4:49 p.m. on January 23, but only 5 of them hit and exploded in the air force base, and other 7 were reportedly defective.
“The military is lined up within 3 miles and 5 miles, but we entered the inner line of 5 miles with ammunition and equipment, then we shot from between 4 miles and 5 miles. An army ambush is located 300 feet away from where we shot. 7 out of 12 missiles that were carried were errors and it did not get a shock with an extra battery that we carried. So we left these defective 7 missiles because of the safety of our comrades. We don’t know the damage in detail yet,” the spokesperson of Brave Warriors For Myanmar (BWM), said.
After the shooting, the junta troops reportedly confiscated 7 missiles (170 mm) left behind by the resistance forces.
“It was a mission that was difficult to shoot from the inner line surrounded by the junta troops. So, I would also like to say my gratitude to all the relevant local resistance forces who participated in this mission,” he added.
The shooting was carried out jointly by Warriors For Myanmar (BWM) and Urban Special Operations (USO) and Security & Special Task Force (SSTF-MDY).
” The junta soldiers were fully deployed around the 2-mile area of the army. As soon as they knew this shooting, they trampled the nearby forest and blocked all the entrances and exits,” said a local resistance comrade.
The Warriors For Myanmar (BWM) and allied forces attacked the junta’s air force base because it is the most used air base by the military junta to carry out airstrikes against the revolutionary forces and innocent civilians, according to BMW’s statement.
It has also been stated that the damage and casualties in the air force base is still under investigation.
