It is reported that the Arakan Army (AA) attacked and occupied a border guard station of the terrorist military near Mile Post Number – 40 in the northern part of Maungdaw Township, Rakhine State at around 9 o’clock this morning.
”The AA attacked the border guard station near Mile Post Number – 40. I heard that the border guards there have fallen, and the camp has also fallen,” a departmental official in Taungpyo Letwe told the MPA.
The official said that several troops, including a border guard under the terrorist military, were killed in the camp, but the MPA could not independently confirm the exact number.
”I heard the sound of machine gun fire and the sound of some heavy weapons being fired. It’s not for so long. I don’t know for sure which groups they are,” a local told the MPA.
The gunshots were heard near the border milepost number 40 northeast of Letpan Ridge, locals confirmed that there was a border guard station of the terrorist military nearby.
A Maungdaw resident told the MPA that ”Since the last battle, the army has increased its strength, and heavy weapons had been set up on the hills of some camps.”
On July 18th, in the northern Maungdaw, there were two skirmishes between the Arakan Army (AA) and the terrorist military, fourteen troops of the terrorist forces, including an officer, were arrested by the AA.
About twenty terrorist military troops, including an officer, were killed during the skirmish, starting the next day on July 19, the terrorist military deployed nearly 200 more troops, including the 22nd Division.
In addition, eyewitnesses said that from July 27th to 29th, about 300 terrorist soldiers and arms and food supplies were replenish with two terrorist military landing crafts through Angu Maw port in Rathetaung Township.
