The SAC Military’s members and local residents said that security is extremely tight because Min Aung Hlaing, a leader of Military dictators who seized power, will come to Rakhine State.
It is said that it is mainly tightened in the cities of Thandwe and Sittwe, where the police forces use the most for security.
”In Sittwe City, the police forces provide the main security. He said that he would come. I don’t know exactly what it is. I can’t say,” a senior police officer from Sittwe told MPA.
There is a report that on 18 January, Min Aung Hlaing, the Military leader, will arrive in Thandwe City today, but it cannot be confirmed yet that he actually arrived or not.
It is reported that the Military forces of the SAC have tightened extremely security around Ngapali town and Mazin airport road near the place where they will visit, and local people are not allowed to pass through.
“In addition, Sittwe Residents also said that security has been tightened in all areas near to Lawkanandar Pagoda, U Utama Park and Sittwe Post Office,” the residents said.
”He said he would come. I don’t know exactly. I can’t even pick up the phone. I was ordered not to talk on the phone with others,” a police officer who was guarding Thandwe town told MPA.
“There are reports that the leader of the Military that seized the power and the Chief of the Thai Navy will meet in Ngapali and will also visit to the Russian Naval Base in southern Rakhine,” some sources are reported.
Before said visit, the Union-level councilors of the SAC, some Military leaders and some Ministers are also arriving in Sittwe in advance.
