Two tied dead bodies were found on July 8 near Theakhon village, Pauktaw township of Rakhine State’s Sittwe district where the terrorist military has arrived, locals say.
“One dead body is on the shore near the house where the soldiers have arrived. Another one is at a different location. Both bodies are in this island. Nobody dares go to see,” said a woman Theakhon villager to MPA.
The terrorist military had arrived at the island where fishermen who found the two dead bodies live since the 5th of July; and the local residents are terrified after seeing the tied dead bodies.
“The night the terrorist arrived, some residents fled out of fear. Most of the locals dared not go away. It’s worried that they might have been arrested and killed,” said one resident.
The dead bodies have not been identified as no one dares go check them since the terrorist soldiers are still in the village and no accurate situation has been known as the village administrator is also called up by the terrorist soldiers, villagers say.
“As the military has been arresting and killing people from villages in other mainland areas, we’re worried the same might be done here. Now, we’re even more afraid after seeing the two tied and killed bodies,” said a local villager to MPA.
The island where the fishermen who found the dead bodies live is located at the entrance of Kaladan river and the Bay of Bengal; and a joint military training by the army and navy had been conducted in the Bay of Bengal, on the day the terrorist soldiers arrived.
