It is reported that seven Palaw PDF soldiers who were trapped in a house in Mya Daung Village, Palaw Township, Taninthary Region, were shot dead by the SAC Army.
On September 18, starting at 8:00 a.m., after a close encounter between the SAC Army that entered Mya Daung village with a force of more than 60 soldiers on foot and the Palaw People’s Defense Force, and seven PDF comrades trapped in a house were killed, according to an official of No. 1, Company (1), the 1st Battalion of Myeik District.
“Yesterday in the Mya Daung village battle, the military side started to shoot and they got the first hand. Their side has a lot of forces as well. When they surrounded the village, PDFs were killed,” he said.
On September 18, around 10:00 a.m., an official of KNU, the 7th Battalion of the 4th Brigade said that seven Palaw PDF troops were surrounded and shot dead by the SAC troops in a house in Mya Daung village.
“It looks like the children were trapped in the house. They (SAC troops) didn’t shoot them inside the house. They took them outside and then killed them. They shot them in the head,” he said.
When asked whether the bodies of the 7 fallen soldiers have been recovered, the official of Myeik District Battalion 1, No. 1, Company – 1 said that the investigation is still ongoing.
“Yesterday, when the news came that seven were killed, six PDF troops were missing. We thought they had died. They came back around the evening. They just went beyond our own area. There are some bodies that have not been returned, but we are still confirming it,” he said.
During the 3-day fighting in Letku Village, Pyin Phyu Ward, which took place from September 15th to 17th, 26 houses were burned down by the SAC forces, four family members in Letku Village were killed, and a man was also killed by a heavy weapon.
In addition, one Palaw PDF soldier was killed and two were injured.
