According to Daung Min Thar Nyi Naung Force, 18 soldiers, including an officer, were killed in a fierce battle between the SAC Military and the Local Defense Force in Yedashe Township, Bago Region, for about 3 hours.
At around 11:00 a.m. on January 17th, while three columns of about 90 soldiers between Najap Village, and Kwin Chaung Village, Yedashe Township were surrounding and blocking Company-4, Yedashe Battalion – 3501, Taungoo District PDF and then the Daung Min Thar Nyi Naung Troops and Northern Thantaung Special Region Forces arrived for reinforcements and a battle broke out.
“These guys called for reinforcements and came into our area. The Company – 4 is in the south region. Their column entered the south. It seems that Company-4 has been blocked by the three columns of the SAC. The Company-4 is also less on manpower and weapons. We were called for reinforcements and we had to pull them back. The fighting lasted for 3 hours. 18 soldiers were killed. Among them, one lieutenant and one sergeant were killed. We got exactly a report later,” said Bo Thurein, military in charge of the Daung Min Thar Nyi Naung Force.
It is reported that the SAC troops came and carried away those who died during the battle at around 11:00 yesterday night in a car.
The MPA could not independently confirm the death of the soldiers.
It is known that the SAC troops are stationed at the Najap village school and there is a possibility of clashes again.
