An official of the Dawei Guerrilla Revolutionary Force-DGRF (Dawei-PDF) warned that if they dare die, they should continue to take the population census.
The DGRF has warned those who are conducting door-to-door population census for the SAC’s imagined election.
On January 9th, at around 11:00 AM, an official of the DGRF issued a further warning after Dawei PDF and Launglon PDF jointly attacked the military and a group of people who were taking military security and gathering a population census in Kamyawkin Village, Launglon Township, Tanintharyi Region.
“Yesterday morning, it happened near Kamyawkin Elementary School. Launglon PDF and Dawei PDF are working together. They are impressed by the security provided by the military, and if the stooges dare die, they could continue,” he said.
He said that he will not accept the illegal election to be held by Min Aung Hlaing, and he will not look on with indifference at illegal elections.
“Don’t stay close to the military. If they are collecting votes for the election, Dawei PDF will not be responsible for the subsequent events at all,” he added.
During yesterday’s attack, 1 soldier of the SAC was killed and 1 escaped with injuries. The DGRF announced that an Ak 47 gun, 23 bullets of ammunition and a bullet box were seized from them.
The SAC is conducting a door-to-door population census nationwide from January 9th to 31st, and the NUG, Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration, and Union Minister U Lwin Ko Latt issued a statement on January 9 that those taking the population census will be severely prosecuted under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
