It is reported that defense forces attacked on the Air Force Base with heavy weapons in Tada-U Township, Mandalay Region – damaging four jet fighters.
The Freedom Revolution Force reported that the aircraft hangar was hit and damaged when ten 107mm and five 90mm handmade rockets launched at the Tada-U Air Base around 2:00 am on April 17.
“The hanger housing the parked planes was damaged. I can confirm that four out of the six aircraft were struck. A runway was also damaged. The hanger was struck, so it was also damaged,” said the information officer of the Freedom Revolution Force.
During the clearance operation of the area, the Junta troops seized four unexploded shells that were fired, he said.
“It can also be said that the quality of our material is weak. Some were seized by the junta troops. We had to abandon them because there was no way to retrieve them,” he added.
After the attack, the junta troops returned fire with heavy and small arms, but the defense soldiers were able to retreat unharmed.
“They(junta troops) are picking on the vicinity where the attack was launched near Kyaukse. Traces were left behind. Until yesterday, they had been interrogating villagers. They scolded them – What do you guys know? There’s much you’re unaware of. They threatened – residents wanted the village ruined,” said an official from the People’s Defense Force (Pa-Ka-Hpa) of Sintkai Township.
The attack was carried out jointly by Special Task Force (1) of the Freedom Revolution Force (FRF), Kyaukse Revolution Army (KRA), and Sintkai Township PDF (Pa-Ka-Hpa) under the NUG.
MPA could not independently confirm the damage to the four jet fighters.
