Junta troops arriving in Kataw Village, Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, were chasing and shooting chickens of residents with guns, and they shot dead a monk because he stopped them from doing so, the Myingyan Township Strike Committee reported.
The military junta troops arrived in Katow village at around 3:00 p.m. on April 10th and shot dead the presiding Sayadaw of Pubbarama Monastery, who stopped the soldiers because they were drunk and killing chickens in the village.
“Sayadaw stopped them from killing chickens in the village and the monastery, then they shot him. The column has more than 200 forces. So far, the column is still in and around Kataw village,” Bo Mike Kae, the leader of the Myingyan Black Tiger Force (MBT), told MPA.
In addition, the junta troops also took the gold, money and valuables from workers who returned from the farms in Kataw village.

In some Pyu Saw Htee villages, the army is stationed and raids the nearby areas. Then they kill unarmed people and spread propaganda as if they do not,” said a local man from Myingyan.
