It is reported that four people, including two children, were hit due to heavy weapons fired by junta troops in Matara Township, Mandalay Region.
Junta troops stationed Shwe Kyaung Village, Matara Township, fired 81mm heavy weapons at around 8:00 a.m. today (April 10) and exploded in Auk Taung Kaing Village, said the information officer of Mattara Township’s People Defense Force.
“Exactly five shells of heavy weapons were fired at Auk Taung Kaing village. One of them fell directly on the house, and three family members were killed. A mother, two children, and a man milking a cow in Matara town were also killed,” he said.
Win San (49 years old), Phoe Thingyan (14 years old), Ye Min Khant (13 years old) from Auk TaungKaing Village and Nyunt Khin (66 years old) from Ward No. 2, Matara Town, were killed by heavy weapons.
“They (junta troops) have been firing heavy weapons for about five days. The villages around them are fleeing. Now the people of Auk Taung Kaing have moved to other places,” said a local.
It is reported that the junta army has been stationed in Shwe Kyaung, Shwe Baung, Kywe Chan Kone, Yae Nant Thar, Tangar and Kyauk Tadar villages in Matara Township, and they have been firing heavy weapons into nearby villages every day since April 5.
