The Pa-O National Organization-PNO militias led by Sai Naung reportedly shot heavy weapons and set fire to Sant Swel village _ in north linlang village tract in Inle area, Nyaung Shwe Township _ in the early morning on Last January 31, according to the Inle Public Movement Group.
The 3 houses, a car, 300 rice baskets and 1,200 corn sacks _ in Sant Swel village _ were damaged by the Pa-O National Organization (PNO), and about 300 local residents have fled the war, according to an official from the Inle Public Movement Group.
“Sant Swel village has 70 houses and 300 populations. The whole village has fled from war, so no one was harmed. The troops from PNO militias were harmed in the fighting, so they burned the village. The villagers have not returned yet. So, IDP villagers have also problems with livelihood,” he said.
The Inle People Defense Force (IPDF) and Pa-O National Organization (PNO) took place a clash near Sant Swel village at about 6:00 a.m. on January 19, killing 5 PNO troops, so the PNO set fire the village, according to an information official from the IPDF.
“Our battalion column clashed with 30 PNO forces, and 5 PNO troops were killed, but our side was not harmed. The PNO dead bodies were also buried in the village of Lwal Pone next to Sant Swel village. The fighting lasted for just over 30 minutes,” he said.
Currently, there is a military tension between the Inle People Defense Force (IPDF) and Pa-O National Organization (PNO) near the village of Sant Swel.
