The 2 women were killed and 15 were injured in the junta airstrikes on West Kangyi village in Pale township, Yinmarpin District, Sagaing Region, without a fight, according to local people.
The jet fighter from Mithila Air Force attacked with two 500-pound bombs on Kangyi village at around 3:00 p.m. on January 31.
“The junta launched aerial bombardment without a fight, so many people were affected. A woman PDF comrade and a 35-year-old woman were killed, and cows died and three houses were burned. The houses next to the monastery were destroyed,” a comrade from Pale Township’s People’s Defense Force told MPA.
“Local people from the villages _ Thadin (East), Thadin (West) and Kangyi (West) _ have fled from war. The junta column has not left Pale town yet,” a IDP woman from Kangyi (West) village, said.
In addition, the military junta reportedly conducted another air attack on a place in Pale Township at about 8:00 p.m. yesterday.
“I don’t know where they shot because it was night, but I think it was near the dam of Nwein village. When it was shot, I only saw two lights,” a woman from Mintaipin village in Pale Township, said.
The Pale Township’s People’s Defense Force has urged the local residents to be alert and careful as the military junta may launch air attacks in Pale Township at any time.
