The 4 out of 15 civilians who were arrested were killed from Mae Oh village in Dapayin Township, Sagaing Region, according to Dapayin IDPs Assistance Group and Dapayin Brotherhoods Group.
“The military column of 100 forces raided Mae Oh village and arrested 15 civilians in the morning of January 18. On January 19, 4 dead bodies out of them were recovered at Leyetkone village,” an official from Dapayin Brotherhoods Group said.
“Those out of the people arrested from Mae Oh village were killed. When the column _ that came out from Ye-U to Dapayin _ raided Mae Oh village, they killed the people. When we cleared the area, we found the dead bodies at Let Yet Kone,” he said.
Those dead people are Ko Tun, Ko Zaw Win, Ko Aung Myint Kyaw and an unknown girl, according to a member of Dapayin IDPs Assistance Group.
“4 people were killed. Three of them are men. Two men had their heads and limbs cut off and one man had his neck cut with a knife. We found a woman’s dead body was put in a bag. I don’t know whether her dead body was set on fire after killing,” he said.
Currently, this military column patrolling to Dapayin has reportedly returned to Ye-U Township, but the local people _ who were arrested from Mae Oh village _ have not been released until now.
