“A total of 102 junta staff have reportedly joined CDM as of December 5 after the announcement,” according to Indaw Revolution.
“The officials restrained those who surrendered after the announcement and made them promise that they had nothing to do with the junta and sent them back to their homes and villages,” a local PDF comrade said.
“Most of the people who have surrendered are staff of the General Administration Office, schoolteachers, and other staff,” he added.
Until now, armed policemen and soldiers have not been included among those who have surrendered, and there has only been one time that five soldiers and policemen in Indaw Township surrendered around 6 months ago.
