The Military junta arrested people on the road in Chaung U town of Sagaing Region, this morning, according to a report.
Non-uniform soldiers, police and junta militias arrested people sitting in a tea shop and passers-by in Chaung U today morning, according to some locals.
There are a lot of arrests. It may be around 30. I don’t know exactly. The junta troops took those people to the police station and the nearby market, and beat some arbitrarily, a Chaung U resident said.
The troops arrested those from various places in the town, and women were among those arrested.
“I felt and came out of the city after hearing about the arrest. I’m not sure how many those are arrested,” a resident fled to out of town said.
The military in Chaung U town is afraid of raids by the PDFs and dare not to patrol inside Chong U town at night, according to the Chaung U Township People’s News reporting local revolution news.
Additionally, the junta troops are firing 60 (mm) heavy weapons into Chong U town almost every night, according to the report.
A resident fled to out of town said, “the city-gate was seized on these days, so they are afraid the town will be seized. So, they are shooting. That’s what they do, he said.
The PDF joint forces attacked a military base next to the Monywa-Mandalay highway in Chaung U township, and 14 soldiers were killed on November 4, according to the PDF report.
The military arrested some youths passed by the Chaung-U police station, forced them to kneel and inspected them on October 5, according to some local residents.
