It is reported that the SAC military tried 3 times to recapture Khachin Mountain Camp, which was captured by PDF in Bago Roema, Min Hla Township, Bago Region, and 8 soldiers were killed and had to retreat.
On September 16, at around 11:00 a.m., Thayarwati District Battalion 3802 reported that they resisted and attacked when the SAC troops came with 60 soldiers in 2 vans to seize the Khachin mountain camp.
After the scout force of Thayarwati District PDF Battalion-3802, Division 5 ambushed from the top of Utalone Mountain, Tharrawati District Battalion-3802, Divisions 2, 3, and 5 ambushed the blue car that came up Khachin Mountain, resulting in the death of 5 soldiers, including the driver.
“This camp is generating good income for these guys (soldiers), so they really want it back. When our forces shot around them, 5 people died, including the driver, and the car stopped. We tried to get weapons, but we had to retreat du to the guys in the next car shot with heavy weapons,” said an official from Tharrawati District Battalion-3802.
It is reported that the reinforcements from the SAC military also arrived and the battle took place for about 1 hour.
He said that the dead and wounded soldiers and the damaged truck were brought back by a Narku (welfare association) car, a light truck and a truck on the evening of September 16, and the PDF force could still occupy Khachin Mountain Camp.
“On our side, no one was injured. A heavy weapon fell near the troops and did not explode,” he added.
The Tharrawati District Battalion-3802 announced that 5 soldiers were killed in the battle according to eyewitnesses, 3 were killed in the hospital, and at least 5 were injured.
On the 14th and 15th of September, the PDF ambushed the SAC military that was patrolling the Khachin mountain camp and they retreated.
On September 9, the Khachin Mountain Camp that is based by the SAC troops was attacked, captured and burned down by the Tharrawati District Battalion-3802, Division 5.
The military is trying to recapture the Khachin Mountain camp as it is an important military operation.
