According to local residents, a woman from Pyi Taw Thar Village, Kalay Township, Sagaing Region, died of internal injuries yesterday (September 5th) as a result of being beaten by the SAC soldiers.
On August 27th, a 31-year-old woman named (Ma) Hauh Buaii (Do Deit Hauh) from Pyi Taw Thar Village was beaten up by SAC soldiers who were inspecting her friend (male) on the way to Kalay Town on August 27.
“What happened was that the soldiers accused her friend of being a CDM firefighter and beaten him up. The woman stopped them and her ears and face were slapped. After his whole body had got black and blue bruises and she was bleeding from her ears, they let them go. The next day, she had a headache and felt dizzy while having her meal, then she passed out and was taken to the hospital,” a local person close to the incident told MPA.
On August 28, (Ma) Hauh Buaii was taken to Shin Hon Hospital in Kalay Town and received medical treatment, but as she did not get better, the doctors told her to go to Mandalay (or) Yangon for a brain and nerve examination.
It was investigated that she died on the way on September 5th when she left Kalay Town to go to Mandalay for medical treatment on September 4th.
From February 1, 2021, since the SAC seized power, to September 5, 2023, a total of 4,043 democracy activists and people were killed by the Military Group and its subordinates during the Spring Revolution, according to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP-Burma).
