It is said that the SAC military outpost in Thayetchaung Township, Thanintharyi Region, , was surrounded by PDFs and the soldiers had fled, and the camp was burned down.
On June 12, an official of the Daung Min Military Operation Group said that when an outpost camp, that jointly deployed by soldiers and Pyusawhti, about 2 miles northeast of Thayetchaung Township was raided, soldiers and Pyusawhti had fled.
“There was no shooting from both sides. Our side surrounded the camp and only had to fire six shots. They all (Pyusawhti and the soldiers) fled from the camp. We were able to capture the camp easily,” he said.
This attack on the camp was carried out jointly by the Daung Min Military Operation Group, Dawei Southern People Defense Force, Dawei Dragoon Division (2) and Thayetchaung Township’s People Defense Guerrilla Force.
“We fought in cooperation with the brother allied forces. We did not station in the camp. We burned down the buildings of the outpost camp,” he continued.
It is reported that during the camp raid, 2 talkies and some military equipment were seized in the outpost.
Since June 15, KNU Brigade 6 and the allied forces have been inspecting vehicles traveling on the Myeik-Mawlamyine Union Highway Road.
