It is reported that in Tharzin Village, Sadaung Town, Sagaing Region, the SAC troops shot and killed a mentally ill woman in her 60s and burned down more than 600 houses.
Tharzin village was set fire by the SAC troops on June 13th, at around 8:30 am, according to Sagaing Township Right News Information.
“When the column comes in, people run away. It is the custom of the military to shoot whoever they see. Nobody has ever seen that they do good things. They shot and killed a woman over 60 who was mentally ill, and the 30 men who were captured as hostages have not been released yet,” said an official from Sagaing Township Right News Information.
On June 13, the SAC force abducted 30 middle-aged men from Tharzin village as human shields and set fire to the TZ People Defense Force’s production camp.
While the TZ team was activating the mine, they clashed with the SAC troops and the soldiers opened fire on them. It is reported that they were forced to retreat due to a lack of weaponry.
The TZ People Defense Force’s production camp is located in the west of Tharzin village and was destroyed by fire, causing a loss of around 12 million kyats, including production and related equipment, according to Sagaing Township Right News Information.
“Yesterday morning, they burned Aing Danma and Inn Sa villages and came back to Sadaung. This morning, their column entered Paukma North Village and Paukma South Village, and they burned Paukma North Village, the entire village was destroyed. Around 3:30 p.m., they burned Paukma South Village,” he said.
The number of houses that were burned in Paukma South Village and North Village is unknown.
